** Manipulate Festival, Edinburgh Just announced! Cloud Eye Control will perform a program of short works at the 2013 Manipulate Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. Produced by Puppet Animation Scotland, Manipulate is dedicated to the advocacy for, and the development and celebration of visual theatre, puppetry and animation in Scotland. Performances on February 7th and 8th, 2013. More information can be found here.

Cloud Eye Control has been awarded the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation's USArtists International grant for the first round of the 2013 program year. USAI ensures that the impressive range of the performing arts in the United States is represented abroad. The program works to strengthen the creative and professional development of American artists through participation at significant international festivals and engagements that represent extraordinary career opportunities. USAI is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Cloud Eye Control will present Under Polaris at the Santiago a Mil International Festival, Chile. ** Duke University Visiting Artist Residency ![]() The Duke University Department of Theater Studies will host Cloud Eye Control for a visiting artist residency. In addition to artist talks and meeting with students, we will be using the one-week residency to further develop our latest work, Half Life. The residency will culminate in a public performance of Cloud Eye Control works, with special guests. More information can be found here.

** Cloud Eye Control performing at KNOWLEDGES at Mt. Wilson Observatory KNOWLEDGES at Mount Wilson Observatory brings together a constellation of more than thirty contemporary Los Angeles artists whose work extends from the nexus of ideas embodied by the Observatory itself: astronomy, scientific discovery, space exploration, optics, recorded observation, philosophical questions of cosmology, the history, aesthetics and ecology of the site and its influence upon the cultural landscape of Los Angeles. Cloud Eye Control's Under Polaris tells the story of an epic journey into an Arctic wonderland. A woman embarks upon an incredible mission to preserve the finer elements of humanity in Arctic ice. Along the way, she disguises herself as animals to help her survive the elements-and in the process, learns about the delicate interdependence between humans and nature. Cloud Eye Control is a Los Angeles-based multi-disciplinary performance collective comprised of Miwa Matreyek (Dreaming of Lucid Living), Anna Oxygen and Chi-wang Yang. Integrating animation, experimental theatre, pop music, and puppetry; their work fuses screen and stage to create inventive hybrids of animation and performance. Their work has been presented both nationally and internationally.
Recent showings include the REDCAT NOW Festival (read about the show here on the LA Times website.), 2007 Platform Internation Animation Festival and the Time-Based Festival at the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art.
